TOLEDO, OHIO — An angry DaimlerChrysler employee shot three coworkers then killed himself at a Toledo, Ohio, assembly plant, the Toledo Blade reported Thursday.

Police said Myles Meyers, 54, was working the night shift Wednesday and returned from a break with a concealed 20-gauge double-barreled shotgun.

Meyers walked into a hallway to offices brandishing the gun and demanded to see a supervisor who had disciplined him Tuesday night. Supervisors began screaming into 2-way radios and Meyers then began shooting, the report said.

Three people were struck and one man died after arriving at the hospital. The conditions of the other two were not available early Thursday.

At least 15 police crews responded and the situation was chaotic for at least 30 minutes until Meyers was found dead from a self-inflicted shot to the head. Several hundred workers ran from the plant and several were briefly detained by police who mistook them for the shooter.

The plant remained closed Thursday.
