Bridgestone Partners with Lamborghini on Supercar Run-Flat

Bridgestone says the Dueler All-Terrain AT002 is the first supercar all-terrain tire featuring run-flat technology.

Bridgestone Americas has been chosen as the sole and exclusive tire partner for the new Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, providing all-terrain and winter fitments for the all-terrain, super sports car equipped with a V10 engine and all-wheel drive powertrain.

The custom-engineered Bridgestone Dueler AT002 supercar all-terrain tire comes with Run-Flat Technology, which the tiremaker says is a “world-first” that keeps drivers going safely even after a puncture. The tire’s bespoke polymers, patterns and tire technologies have been developed to enhance the all-terrain capabilities of the Huracán Sterrato, Bridgestone says.

Developed and manufactured in Europe, the Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain AT002 includes a new tire compound designed to optimize grip, with a specific shoulder integrated for additional grip in deep gravel and mud. Meanwhile, the tread pattern on the Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain AT002 has also been optimized for the best possible handling and high-speed performance without compromise to off-road grip.

Steven De Bock, vice president consumer replacement and OE at Bridgestone EMIA, commented, “With the Dueler All-Terrain AT002, Bridgestone has created a bespoke tire that perfectly complements the high-speed all-terrain concept of the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato. We’ve created a tire that is just as capable at high speeds on asphalt as it is when driving off-road, providing high-speed stability and off-road capability, rising to meet a completely different set of challenges on mud, gravel and demanding terrains.”

GM Signs Long-Term Nickel Supply Agreement with Vale Canada

This agreement secures for GM a supply of nickel sulfate from a U.S. free-trade partner to support its fast-growing EV production needs in North America.

Vale Canada Limited, a subsidiary of Vale S.A., and General Motors Co. have signed a term sheet for the long-term supply of battery grade nickel sulfate from Vale's proposed plant at Bécancour, Québec, Canada. This agreement secures for GM a supply of nickel sulfate from a U.S. free-trade partner to support its fast-growing EV production needs in North America. Nickel sulfate is the chemical compound used in the production of pre-cathode active materials for nickel-based lithium-ion batteries. Under terms of the agreement, Vale will supply battery-grade nickel sulfate, equivalent to 25,000 metric tons per year of contained nickel, for use in GM's Ultium battery cathodes, which will power a broad portfolio of electric vehicles including the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Blazer EV and Equinox EV, the Cadillac LYRIQ, the GMC Sierra EV, and the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV. The amount of contained nickel is sufficient to supply approximately 350,000 EVs annually. Deliveries are targeted to commence in the second half of 2026. This initiative highlights Vale's uniquely strategic position to be the supplier of choice to the EV industry, leveraging its low-carbon footprint and market-leading position as North America's largest producer of finished nickel. Vale and GM have also agreed to study collaborative ways to partner on advanced technology development and commercialization pathways to harvest recycled metals.
