ALLIANCE, Ohio – For the second time this year, Terry’s Tire Town has grown its wholesale tire distribution footprint. This week, the Alliance, Ohio-based dealer confirmed its acquisition of Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Englewood Tire Wholesale.

Rumored for months, the deal is effective Dec. 1 and gives Terry’s Tire Town Holdings Inc. distribution centers in Lyndhust; Happauge, N.Y.; East Hartford, Conn.; West Deptford, N.J.; and Middlesex, N.J.

Specific terms of the deal were not announced.

In February, Terry’s Tire Town acquired wholesaler Summit Tire of New England, adding warehouses in Brockton, Mass.; Nashua, N.H.; and Westbrook, Maine. Those deals give Terry’s Tire Town a total of 11 distribution centers spanning a 12-state service area from northeast Ohio to New England.

The deal also enhances Terry’s Tire Town’s stake as an American Car Care Center member distributor; both Englewood Tire and Summit Tire were ACCC distributors.

The deal does not impact Englewood Tire’s seven retail centers. The family-owned Englewood Tire was founded in 1946.

According to Terry’s Tire Town, the acquisition was “more than just an ordinary business deal, this is a marriage of like-mind cultures and executives who know each other and share a common commitment to customer service as a top priority.”

“Englewood has outstanding executive leadership and a premier sales team and we are excited to work with our new colleagues,” said Terry’s Tire Town CEO Will Tolerton, who shares a long-time friendship with John Boyle, Englewood Tire’s president. Both have served on the ACCC Board of Directors for the past 10 years.

According to Terry’s Tire Town, Boyle will become executive vice president of the company and a member of its board of directors. Scott Williams, a long-time Englewood Tire Wholesale executive, will become a regional vice president.
