Telematics Experts Separate Fact From Fiction At The AAPEX Learning Forum

Industry analyst Roger Lanctot will join Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Scott Luckett in presenting, "Aftermarket Telematics: Separating Fact from Fiction" at the AAPEX Learning Forum, at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

BETHESDA, Md. – Industry analyst Roger Lanctot will join Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Scott Luckett in presenting, “Aftermarket Telematics: Separating Fact from Fiction” at the AAPEX Learning Forum, at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Lanctot will present the current market conditions, projected scenarios and probable aftermarket solutions to the threat of embedded telematics. Luckett will present the aftermarket telematics strategy and describe the latest industry efforts to secure consumers’ right to choose where information from their vehicle goes.
 
Lanctot, associate director in the global automotive practice, Strategy Analytics, is a frequent presenter at automotive gatherings where he draws upon his 25 years of experience in the technology field as an analyst, journalist and consultant. He joined Strategy Analytics after five years at Telematics Research Group.
 
Luckett, CIO, AAIA, has directed the association’s technology standards committee for 17 years. Luckett has shared a vision for aftermarket telematics through the Shop of Tomorrow demonstrations at AAPEX and recently helped organize the Aftermarket Telematics Task Force.
 
Together, they will describe the threat to the aftermarket supply chain posed by remote diagnostic technology embedded by vehicle manufacturers. More importantly, they will present options and solutions that can be deployed by the aftermarket to successfully confront the connected car.
 
The seminar also will feature the introduction of the winner of the 2013 Aftermarket Telematics Challenge. The competition, sponsored by AAIA, recognizes the best example of aftermarket telematics connectivity with the independent parts and service chain.
