Study Finds Automatic Braking Reduces Rear-End Crash Risk

IIHS says automatic braking is able to reduce rear-end crashes by 40 percent.

automatic-breakingThe New York Times reported recently that vehicles equipped with automatic braking or front-collision warning are less likely to cause a rear-end crash, according to an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) study.

IIHS says automatic braking is able to reduce rear-end crashes by 40 percent. Front collision warning cuts the risk of a rear-end crash by 23 percent.
