New Activant Innovation Helps Parts Distributors Generate Revenue from Slow-Moving Stock

Activant Solutions has introduced a web-based solution designed to help automotive and commercial-vehicle parts distributors create and manage large numbers of parts auctions through the eBay Motors online marketplace. The new Activant AuctionExpert solution, developed with insight from eBay Motors, is designed to help traditional parts distributors and jobbers generate revenue from previously slow-moving stock. It can also be used to enhance the presence and efficiency of existing online auctions, the company said.

NHRA Assets Sold to HD Partners

HD Partners Acquisition Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all of the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) professional racing assets, including the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing series, together with a broad set of rights to commercialize the NHRA brand. Once the transaction takes place, acquired assets will be held in a wholly owned subsidiary of HD Partners named NHRA Pro Racing. The NHRA, which will remain a non-profit 501(c)(6) corporation, will retain all its non-professional racing, safety and educational activities and continue to be the sanctioning body for all NHRA racing activities, including the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

Managers to Leave Goodyear Dunlop in 2007

Some 29 managers have lost their jobs at Goodyear Dunlop UK. The job losses are part of a restructuring program, which will cut around 100 jobs in total. The management cuts will almost exclusively be from positions at the company’s TyreFort headquarters in Birmingham, England, with a further 69 non-office positions around the country. However, at least some of the jobs are a question of administration, with employment simply transferring to the various holders of the new franchise agreement instead of Goodyear Dunlop itself.
