Jimmy White Receives Ken Patterson Award

MCHENRY, IL – The National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) recently named Jimmy White — Camp & Associates’ media representative for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year program — as the recipient of the 2006 Ken Patterson Helping Others Award.

The Ken Patterson Helping Others Award — named for former Talladega Superspeedway media relations representative Ken Patterson — has been presented to a public relations representative exhibiting exceptional qualities in the motorsports industry since 2004.

“On behalf of everyone at Affinia Group and our Raybestos Rookie of the Year program we congratulate Jimmy on receiving the Ken Patterson Award and we thank him for all of his efforts at the track,” said Jeff Stauffer, senior vice president of global group marketing for Affinia.

The award was presented to White by Rick Humphrey, vice president and general manager of Talladega Superspeedway, during the NMPA annual banquet and awards ceremony on Jan. 21 in Charlotte, NC.

“The Ken Patterson Helping Others Award is the most prestigious award in our industry and I’m truly honored to be recognized by the members of the NMPA,” said White. “Everyone at Affinia Group has been very supportive of our media relations efforts for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year program. They’ve given me a great opportunity and I thank them for that.”

As part of his award, the Talladega Superspeedway will donate $1,000 to the Kenneth Patterson Educational Trust Fund in White’s name.
