Automotive icon Carroll Shelby will receive the 2008 Automotive Executive of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be presented to him during an invitation-only luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club on April 16. This is the first time in a decade that the Automotive Executive of the Year’s annual honoree will be recognized for lifetime achievement. The Automotive Executive of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award has recognized excellence in automotive leadership from OEM executives since 1964. New Vocational Trucks, Hybrid Vehicles and Truck Equipment to Debut at The Work Truck Show 2008
New vocational truck chassis and bodies, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles and a vast array of truck equipment will be introduced at The Work Truck Show 2008 and 44th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention. More than 60 exhibiting companies have already announced plans to unveil new products and technology at the event. Joe McAleese of Bendix CVS Elected 2008 HDMA Chairman
Joe McAleese, president and CEO of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, has been elected 2008 chairman of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) Board of Directors. McAleese has enjoyed a 25 year career at Bendix and Honeywell/AlliedSignal (owners of Bendix prior to January 2002). During that time he has spent 20 years with the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems business, and has held numerous leadership roles. McAleese has served on the HDMA board executive committee since 2004 and is 2008 chairman of the board. He was elected to the MEMA board of directors in 2006 and currently serves on its executive and nominating committees. He is a long-time member of the Heavy Duty Business Forum, an HDMA executive discussion group, and also serves its board of governors.
