Joe McAleese of Bendix CVS Elected 2008 HDMA Chairman

Joe McAleese, president and CEO of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, has been elected 2008 chairman of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) Board of Directors. McAleese has enjoyed a 25 year career at Bendix and Honeywell/AlliedSignal (owners of Bendix prior to January 2002). During that time he has spent 20 years with the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems business, and has held numerous leadership roles. McAleese has served on the HDMA board executive committee since 2004 and is 2008 chairman of the board. He was elected to the MEMA board of directors in 2006 and currently serves on its executive and nominating committees. He is a long-time member of the Heavy Duty Business Forum, an HDMA executive discussion group, and also serves its board of governors.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – Joe McAleese, president and CEO of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, has been elected 2008 chairman of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) Board of Directors.

McAleese has enjoyed a 25 year career at Bendix and Honeywell/AlliedSignal (owners of Bendix prior to January 2002). During that time he has spent 20 years with the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems business, and has held numerous leadership roles including vice president – finance, vice president – OE enterprise, vice president – Six Sigma, vice president – e-business, and vice president – operations. McAleese has been president of Bendix since May 2001 and added the CEO title in October 2003.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of accountancy degree, both from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

McAleese has served on the HDMA board executive committee since 2004 and is 2008 chairman of the board. He was elected to the MEMA board of directors in 2006 and currently serves on its executive and nominating committees. He is a long-time member of the Heavy Duty Business Forum, an HDMA executive discussion group, and also serves its board of governors.

Other HDMA board officers elected include:

• Vice chairman – Dennis Michels, president and CEO, Link Manufacturing; and

• Vice chairman – Terry Keating, chairman, Accuride Corp.

Dennis Kline, vice president world wide truck sales and marketing, ArvinMeritor, will remain on the board as immediate past chairman.

New members of the board are:

• John Coll, vice president and general manager, Eaton Aftermarket and Vorad; and

• Ed Oeltjen, President, Consolidated Metco.
