Global Symposium Awards Scholarships to 115 Students in 2008

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee recently announced the awarding of scholarships to 115 students pursuing aftermarket careers in 2008. The $1,000 and $2,000 scholarships will be granted to 105 students in the U.S. and ten in Canada. In the history of the scholarship program, more than 1,400 students have received aid totaling approximately $1.4 million.

Federated Honors Outstanding Members

Federated Auto Parts presented its most prestigious member awards at its annual meeting held April 23-26 in Dallas. Mike Jacabacci of Woodbury Automotive Warehouse was presented with the Art Fisher Memorial Membership Award. Cliff Hovis of Hovis Auto & Truck Supply was named the Co-Man Member of the Year and Duke Young of Pat Young Service Co. was selected as the Outstanding Marketing Member of the Year. The late Marvin Mastroff, a longtime Federated member, was honored with a special Art Fisher Memorial Award, which was accepted by his son Russell Mastroff.

Federated Names East Penn Outstanding Vendor of the Year

Federated Auto Parts recently presented its Outstanding Vendor of the Year Award for 2007 to East Penn Manufacturing. The award was presented by Bo Fisher, chairman of Federated Auto Parts, during an awards dinner held April 24 in Dallas. Accepting the award on behalf of East Penn were Harold Eberly, vice president of sales; Bruce Herman, national sales manager; and John Lutes, sales manager.
