Redwine’s Garage Named HDA Truck Pride Truck Service Expert Of The Year

In 1973, Jim Redwine rented a one-bay garage with no heat, a single light and no air compressor to begin his venture into doing what he knew best - fixing trucks. Fast forward 42 years, and Redwine now has two locations, 18 technicians, six double bays, five single bays and five road service vehicles.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – With more than 600 people in attendance, Jim Redwine, owner of Redwine’s Garage and Parts Sale, was presented with the 2013 HDA Truck Pride (HDATP) Truck Service Expert of the Year Award.

The award was presented during the HDATP Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Ariz. Every year, HDA Truck Pride recognizes one Truck Service Expert as the best of the best. The competition gets tougher each year, and as participation increases, so do the standards of expectations.

In 1973, Jim Redwine rented a one-bay garage with no heat, a single light and no air compressor to begin his venture into doing what he knew best – fixing trucks. Fast forward 42 years, and Redwine now has two locations, 18 technicians, six double bays, five single bays and five road service vehicles. Redwine’s Garage and Parts offers complete truck and trailer repair with state-of-the-art test equipment including front end alignments and authorized Cat and Cummins repair services. Redwine’s Garage and Parts facilities are located in Garysburg, N.C. and Emporia, Va. They service the I-95 corridor from Virginia to North Carolina.

Redwine has always operated under the principle “If you’re standing still, you’re really moving backwards.” He still enjoys working on trucks and making road calls, and says he doesn’t mind getting out of bed at 4 a.m. because he knows he’s helping someone get back on the road. He hired progressively thinking people to help him reach his goal and vision of what Redwine’s Garage and Parts should be. Redwine has focused the business on the needs of the traveling trucker. He has assigned the responsibility of technology, marketing and new opportunities to “the younger generation" and says while he doesn’t always agree, the business continues to grow and flourish.

Redwine’s Garage and Parts joined the HDA Truck Pride Truck Service Experts program in 2011. The program provides Redwine’s with a national identity, training and relationships with vendors through their partnership with Stone Truck Parts. Redwine’s Garage and Parts has done everything HDATP has asked of them – from extraordinary signage that promotes the HDA Truck Pride identity in their community to participation in all aspects of training, business development training, as well as technical training. HDA Truck Pride is proud to recognize Redwine’s Garage and Parts as the 2013 Truck Service Expert of the Year.
