TravelCenters of America Inc., a bp brand, marked a significant milestone with the opening of its 300th travel center, commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly rebuilt TA in Walton, Kentucky. The milestone aligns with TA’s strategic network growth plan, complementing bp’s existing convenience and mobility business to offer travelers a seamless nationwide experience.
“Our team members and guests are thrilled to celebrate this achievement, and we remain committed to further growth and innovation to ensure an exceptional experience for all travelers,” said Debi Boffa, CEO of TravelCenters of America.
The celebration, scheduled for February 27 at 10 a.m. at TA Walton, will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new 12,200 square foot building, housing dining options such as HWY Kitchen, KFC, and a store offering hot and cold food and beverage options, in addition to TA Truck Service and other amenities. The TA Walton site brings 100 new jobs to the local community. To commemorate the opening, TA is donating $2,500 to the Freestore Foodbank, a prominent emergency food and services provider in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana.
TA’s acquisition by bp in May 2023 added approximately 290 sites to bp’s US network. This year, TA plans to open 20 new locations and undertake strategic initiatives including adding 1,600 new truck parking spaces, installing biodiesel blending infrastructure, and bp Pulse EV charging stations at select sites nationwide, enhancing store layouts, introducing new benefits to its loyalty program, and upgrading TA Truck Service mobile maintenance and emergency roadside assistance vehicles to better serve fleet customers and professional drivers.
