Platinum Driveline USA, Inc. has been named the exclusive distributor for Miba Frictec GmbH’s pressed sinter clutch components, throughout the US and Canada. Given today’s dynamic clutch designs, changes in friction technology have come a long way and now deliver improved wear rates while also providing smoother engagement. Leading these changes has been Miba Frictec GmbH, a manufacturer of sinter friction materials, Platinum Driveline said. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Austria, Miba has become a major OE producer of friction material for the automotive, industrial, renewable energy, and agricultural markets. The change is expected to increase Miba’s friction material presence in the USA/Canadian aftermarket.
“We are thrilled with Miba’s decision to select us to carry-on the distribution of their brand,” said Robert Insalaco, president and owner of Platinum Driveline. “Being involved with Miba since the late 80’s as General Manager of AMS Automotive, and seeing where their brand has evolved to today, underscores Platinum’s commitment to carry, distribute and add value to premium products.”
Georg Marzendorfer, business unit manager for Miba Frictec added: “We are well familiar with the Platinum Driveline team, and they are a perfect fit for us. Platinum Driveline is a well-respected provider to the United States aftermarket, we are confident that they will do a great job for us.”
Moving forward, Platinum and Miba are focused on making the correct mix of products readily available at a competitive price from Platinum’s distribution center in Eureka, MO, the company said. Platinum is targeting the first week of November to have sufficient inventory levels in place to offer 90% or better order fill rates on Miba.
Platinum Energy LLC is also the exclusive distributor of Miba brake friction for the wind turbine business in North America.
