The new system contains information about the company’s products and underlying technology, including information to facilitate product specification, selection, installation and troubleshooting.

DENSO Earns 2004 Climate Protection Award from EPA

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded its 2004 Climate Protection Award DENSO Corp., Toyota Motor Corp. and Toyota Industries Corp., which together comprise the Electrical Inverter Air Conditioning Team. The team developed an electrical inverter air conditioning system that provides cooling for the new 2003 Toyota Prius during “idle” stop when the engine shuts down to save fuel and emissions. The team was one of 12 organizations and individuals to receive the award.

Metaldyne Launches Internal Inquiry

Auto supplier Metaldyne Corp. has launched an internal investigation into questionable accounting practices for the last seven years that could have resulted in overstating the company’s earnings by $20 million. The error was followed by a cover-up to balance the books, the company said.

Federal-Mogul and Champion Brands Strike Multi-Year Licensing Deal

Federal-Mogul Corp. and Champion Brands, LLC have announced a long-term licensing agreement adding the Champion “Bow Tie” logo to a line of performance additives for automotive, heavy truck, marine and specialty industries. The new products are in addition to the full line of performance additives and lubricants Champion Brands currently manufactures. The new line will be targeted to national accounts and mass merchants channels.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Reports Increased Earnings, All-Time Record Sales

Cooper Tire & Rubber has reported all-time record high sales of $967 million, as well as a 20 percent increase in net income for the quarter which ended Dec. 31, 2003. The record sales represent a 15 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier, said the company. Net income increased by 20 percent to $28 million, compared to $23 million in the fourth quarter of 2002.
