AAPEX REPORT: GAAS Leadership Transition Official at AAPEX 2011; Scholarship Program Continues to Grow
Dennis Welvaert, recently retired president of the North American division of Dayco, officially took over as chairman of the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) during AAPEX 2011 in Las Vegas. Welvaert replaces Dave Caracci, who announced his retirement as GAAS chairman earlier this year. Caracci had served as chairman of GAAS since 2007, and worked with Welvaert during the past three months in a leadership transition role.
2011 AAIA Head of the Class Award Winners Announced
The award is administered by the AAIA Education Committee on behalf of the association, and was created to highlight and recognize companies that continually invest in employee education and training and to promote the value and benefit that this investment provides to the employees and their companies, and also the entire aftermarket industry.

By completing a single online application at the GAAS website, students will be considered for GAAS scholarships, plus scholarships from a number of industry partners. The deadline to apply is March 31.
