Advance Auto Parts has launched a new consumer education campaign which claims that with a little knowledge and confidence, the average consumer can save between $500 and $1,000 a year on car maintenance and repair, simply by doing the work themselves. The Virginia-based auto parts chain recently launched “We’re Ready with Answers,” a program to show vehicle owners how easy it is to become a “do-it-yourselfer.”

Castrol has created a new Business Improvement Training Series (BITS) developed to offer lube installers a cost-effective training solution. BITS incorporates video-based modules along with a leader’s guide and a training handbook for facilitators, learning guides for participants, assessments and evaluation forms. BITS was developed to meet all of the requirements of Castrol’s ASE-certified Continuing Automotive Service Education program. Bendix to Add More Than 30 New Jobs at Ohio Headquarters

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, said it will add more than 30 engineers, information technology specialists and supply chain professionals to support its staff. The company said surging demand for its medium- and heavy-duty truck products has resulted in the need for additional staff. Bendix currently employs 1,800 in North America, including 450 at its Elyria, Ohio, headquarters.
