SPX Corp. has been named to Fortune magazine’s America’s Most Admired Companies 2008, the widely respected and influential annual scorecard recognizing corporate excellence. SPX ranked fifth in the Electronics industry category, behind General Electric, Emerson, Sony and Siemens (in that order) with an overall score of 6.33. The rankings appear in the March 17 issue of Fortune, which will be on newsstands March 10, and are currently available online at www.fortune.com.

Fortune Magazine’s America’s Most Admired Companies list is based on surveys conducted by the Hay Group, which asks more than 3,700 industry experts to pick 10 companies that excel in areas defined by a specific set of criteria. Johnson Controls placed first in the category of Motor Vehicle Parts.
