HDAW’09 One-on-One Meeting Supplier Registration Now Open

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) ’09 has officially opened One-on-One meeting supplier registrations for the February 2009 conference. HDAW ’09 will be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Monday, Feb. 16 through Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009. During HDAW ’08, 89 distributor and 90 supplier companies participated in 1,415 scheduled meetings. This very popular element of HDAW’08 is again available for supplier and distributor participation in 2009.

HDAW Education Program to Feature Industry “Hot Topics”

The 2008 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) education program will feature outstanding speakers addressing important issues for the independent heavy duty aftermarket. HDAW ’08 is slated for Monday, Jan. 21, through Thursday, Jan. 24, at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The 2008 program also will include presentations from two top-ranked speakers from past HDAW conferences: Tom Easton of Essential Action Group and Dr. Clint Longenecker, of the College of Business Administration, University of Toledo, according to Gene Damron, HDAW education committee co-chairman.

HDAW 2008 Planning Begins with Election of Leadership Team

Jerry Weis, president of Ott’s Friction Supply Inc., has been elected to serve as the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2008 chairman. Weis was elected at the HDAW Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meeting March 30 in Chicago. The JOC also re-elected Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager, ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Business, as HDAW 2008 vice chairman. The 2008 Education Committee will be co-chaired by Gene Damron, vice president and general manager, Page Group, and Don Reimondo, senior vice president, customer relationship management, Affinia Group Inc.  

Prestolite Electric Strengthens its Aftermarket Sales Force

Prestolite Electric has announced that Doug Zink has joined the company’s sales organization and will take over a West to Midwest territory recently vacated by Sean Miller, who was recently promoted. Zink brings to Prestolite Electric 16 years of experience calling on the heavy duty industry for companies such as Goodyear, Wix Filtration and most recently Stemco.

HDDA Elects Not to Participate in CFS Conference

Earlier this week it was announced a joint operating committee of heavy duty manufacturing and distribution associations has created the first ever Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in February. HDDA, one of the members working to organize the new event, followed this week’s announcement with the news it will not participate in the 2005 Council of Fleet Specialists Executive Conference as a result of the new event. HDDA is part of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.
