HDAW 2008 Planning Begins with Election of Leadership Team

Jerry Weis, president of Ott’s Friction Supply Inc., has been elected to serve as the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2008 chairman. Weis was elected at the HDAW Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meeting March 30 in Chicago. The JOC also re-elected Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager, ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Business, as HDAW 2008 vice chairman. The 2008 Education Committee will be co-chaired by Gene Damron, vice president and general manager, Page Group, and Don Reimondo, senior vice president, customer relationship management, Affinia Group Inc.  

CHICAGO Jerry Weis, president of Ott’s Friction Supply Inc., has been elected to serve as the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2008 chairman. Weis was elected at the HDAW Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meeting March 30 in Chicago .

The HDAW JOC is comprised of leaders from the American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists (ACOFAS), Heavy Duty America (HDA) Parts Network, Heavy Duty Distribution Association (HDDA), Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), Heavy Duty Remanufacturers Group (HDRG), International Truck Parts Association (ITPA), Overseas Automotive Council (OAC), Power Heavy Duty, Service Specialists Association (SSA), TruckPride and Vipar. Event organizers are HDDA and HDMA.

The JOC also re-elected Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager, ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Business, as HDAW 2008 vice chairman. The 2008 Education Committee will be co-chaired by Gene Damron, vice president and general manager, Page Group, and Don Reimondo, senior vice president, customer relationship management, Affinia Group Inc.

HDAW 2008 will be held Monday, Jan. 21, through Thursday, Jan. 24, at The Mirage in Las Vegas . The JOC plans to build on the successful format for the 2007 conference. There will be several program enhancements that will be announced in the coming weeks and featured on the HDAW Web site, http://www.hdaw.org.

Like the inaugural event in 2006, HDAW 2007 drew the largest gathering of heavy duty aftermarket distributors and suppliers to hear presentations by industry leaders, educators and analysts, participate in one-on-one meetings and outstanding networking events and view the latest products and services in the product exhibition.
