2007 Readers Choice Awards Announced

For 11 straight years, Underhood Service, ImportCar and Brake & Front End magazines have recognized the advertisers who are the foremost communicators in the industry with their annual Readers’ Choice Award. Given to only 10 companies from each magazine, the winners are determined by surveys conducted by Babcox Research that ask readers which ads they recall seeing and reading.

AutoZone First Quarter Sales Increase 4.5 Percent; EPS Increases 17.4 Percent

AutoZone has reported net sales of $1.5 billion for its first quarter ended Nov. 17, an increase of 4.5 percent from fiscal first quarter 2007. Domestic same store sales, or sales for stores open at least one year, increased 1.3 percent for the quarter. Net income for the quarter increased 7 percent over the same period last year to $132.5 million, while diluted earnings per share increased 17.4 percent to $2.02 per share from $1.73 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Mitchell 1 CRM Now Available with Prominent Aftermarket Shop Management Systems

Mitchell 1 announced that it has opened up its Customer Retention Marketing (CRM) program to work with non-Mitchell 1 management systems including NAPA Tracs, Alldata Service Center, R.O. Writer and others. Automotive repair shops will receive the same CRM benefits and support as Mitchell 1 Manager customers.

TechShop’s 2007 Top 5 Tools Award Presented to 24 Companies

TechShop – Equipment, Tools & Supplies magazine recently awarded 24 companies with the magazine’s third-annual Top 5 Tools Award. In each issue of TechShop, technicians and repair shop owners have the opportunity to identify their Top 5 Favorite Tools and submit the information. The technicians frequently choose the most-used and most useful products in their toolboxes. Award winners are determined based on the number of times a company or product was mentioned by shop owners and technicians in the past six issues of TechShop in the Top 5 Tools section.

TechShop Top 5 Tools Award Presented to 16 Companies

TechShop – Equipment, Tools & Supplies magazine recently awarded 16 companies with the magazine’s second-annual Top 5 Tools Award. The 2006 Top 5 Tools Award Winners include: ALLDATA, Fluke, iATN, Ingersoll-Rand, Mac Tools, Makita, Matco Tools, Mitchell 1, OTC, Power Probe, Raytek, Rotary Lift, RTI Technologies, Snap-on Diagnostics, Snap-on Tools and Vetronix.
