AKRON, OH — For 10 straight years, Underhood Service, ImportCar and Brake & Front End magazines have recognized the advertisers that are the foremost communicators in the industry with their annual Readers’ Choice Award. Awarded by each magazine to only 10 companies, the winners are determined by surveys conducted by Babcox Research that asks readers which ads they recall seeing and reading.

The 2006 Readers’ Choice Award winners, by magazine, are:

Brake & Front End : ACDelco, Akebono, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper, Bendix, CARQUEST, KYB, Monroe, NAPA Brakes, Performance Friction and Spicer.

ImportCar : ACDelco, ALLDATA, BOSCH, Denso, Goodyear Belts & Hose, Jasper, Mercedes, Monroe, OTC and Toyota.

Underhood Service : Airtex, ALLDATA, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper, CARQUEST, Delphi, GM, Identifix, Jasper, NAPA and OTC.

"Of the hundreds of advertisers that seek readers’ attention, these companies are among the best," said Publisher Jeff Stankard. "They recognize that repair shop owners and managers consistently cite trade magazines as the leading source of product and technical information, and when you combine an effective advertising message with a market-specific magazine, you get a marketing program that delivers results."

Recipients of Brake & Front End, ImportCar and Underhood Service are determined by matching the magazine content to the source of the majority of the shop’s service revenue (undercar, underhood or import). While the total circulation of the three magazines is more than 109,000 unique shop locations, each repair shop is provided with only one magazine. Underhood Service magazine serves more than 40,000 repair shop owners whose business is concentrated on under-the-hood repairs. ImportCar is received by more than 28,000 import specialist repair shop operators. Brake & Front End magazine serves more than 40,000 repair shop owners whose business is concentrated on under-the-car repairs.
