Yokohama Tire Corp. has initiated legal proceedings against several tire companies, including Hangzhou, Tireco, Cooper, Guizhou and Greenball for infringement of Yokohama tire patents on some of its best-selling brands and its long-standing and prominent ADVAN trademark.

Lund International’s Paula Sliefert Elected to Second LTAA Council Term
Paula Sliefert, director of marketing for Lund International, has been elected to serve for a second term on the select committee of the Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA). The primary goal of the LTAA, a council of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association), is to encourage product quality as well as service and business practices benefiting manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and customers.
Lund International Makes Changes to Corporate Structure
As of this Monday, Lund International began operating from its new corporate center in Suwanee, GA. The new 355,000-square-foot facility has been substantially renovated to meet the company’s long-term needs for superior customer service and support. Several executives have been moved into new positions as a result.

Yokohama Tire Wraps Up Suit on Infringing Wanli Tires
Yokohama Tire Corp. said yesterday it has resolved the last phase of its patent and trade dress infringement suit related to the Wanli S-1099 tires. The Wanli S-1099 infringed upon Yokohama’s trademarks and patents due to its similarity in appearance to Yokohama’s AVS Sport tire.

King Engine Bearing’s Pavelick Named COO
Ed Pavelick has been promoted to COO for King Engine Bearings, effective immediately. He was formerly vice president of sales, marketing and operations. In his new capacity, Pavelick will direct all North American activities for the company in the areas of: sales, distribution, marketing, pricing, cataloging, strategic planning and human resources. He will report to the board of directors of King’s parent company in Israel.
