Johnson Manufacturing Acquires S. A. Day Mfg. Co.

Johnson Manufacturing Company has acquired the assets of The S.A. Day Mfg. Co. The newly named S.A. Day Buffalo Flux Facility will continue to operate at its current location in Buffalo, NY. The S.A. Day Company was founded in 1912 and was initially involved in the production of buffing compounds. During the 1960’s S.A. Day became a pioneer in the development of bromide based fluxes that are still in use today.

Timken’s Automotive Aftermarket group has announced the recipients of its 2007 Manufacturers’ Representative Awards. Those who exceeded $1 million in sales joined the Million Dollar Sales Club and include: Ed Palnau and Glenn Cattanach, Kitchin & Sons; Jim Connolly and Jerry Spexarth, Connolly Sales & Marketing; Michael Glazier, Glazier Sales; Mike Lenszuolo, Grinold O’Brien Sales; Ben Rawls, Hirsig-Frazier Company, Inc.; Gary Linsley and Alan Tiegs, RepWorks Marketing; and Ken Brandt, Sherman/Peterson. LORD Corp., maker of Fusor Automotive Repair Adhesives, recently recognized three representative agencies for their sales, service and marketing efforts. Timken Names Tom Tecklenburg Director Global Automotive Aftermarket

The Timken Co. has named Tom Tecklenburg director – global automotive aftermarket. He will report to Dan Muller, president – distribution and services. Tecklenburg will be responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket business globally. Before joining Timken, Tecklenburg was vice president of sales and marketing for Bendix Brakes Americas. He held previous positions in sales with Bendix, Fram and Autolite in both original equipment manufacturer and aftermarket businesses. He also held prior positions in supply chain and finance.

Walker Exhaust Announces Continuing Coverage Expansion

Tenneco has announced an ongoing product coverage expansion that will bring more than 600 new exhaust/emission control part numbers to the Walker exhaust product line throughout 2008. Tenneco has invested in well over 1,600 new exhaust/emission control SKUs since 2004. Unlike traditional annual coverage introductions provided by some aftermarket manufacturers, Tenneco and Walker will roll out hundreds of new exhaust/emission SKUs on a quarterly basis next year. According to the company, this new capability was the result of its continued investment in product development resources to help customers re-energize their exhaust/emissions businesses.
