Overheard: Seasonal Road Travel Stats, By Region

The Federal Highway Administration released its estimate for travel on all roads and streets for April 2020.

The Federal Highway Administration released its estimate for travel on all roads and streets for April 2020. Seasonally adjusted, it was down 41.2% compared to April 2019. The biggest drop came in the Northeast, where travel was down 46.7%, while the “best” was the South Gulf states, down 35.9%. Those numbers are expected to begin increasing again as many states emerge from Shelter-in-Place orders.
