MIDLAND, Mich. Northwood University recently named Michael Robins as recipient of The Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA) scholarship. Robins, a junior majoring in aftermarket management, is the son of Mike Robins of Highland and the late Ilene Robins. This new scholarship will benefit young men and women seeking a career in the automotive industry.
The SAA Thought Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship program was announced at the SAA’s 2012 Summit held at Lear Corp. headquarters in Southfield. Lear was chosen to host the event in honor of SAA’s 25th anniversary and to celebrate the resurgence of the domestic auto industry. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student enrolled at Northwood University’s Michigan campus or the DeVos Graduate School of Management. This program seeks to support the future leadership that will drive innovation and growth within the automotive industry.
Larry Silvey, chair of Northwood’s automotive aftermarket management program, commented, “With his profound intellect and savvy, coupled with his passion for the industry, Michael will be able to choose to work in any part of this industry. I have no doubt that he will be a prominent leader in this industry in a very short time.”
When asked about this honor, Robins said, “I would like to thank The Society of Automotive Analysts, as well as Northwood University, for recognizing me as a deserving recipient. This scholarship enables me to continue my education while providing me with the chance to develop a network of industry contacts that will aid me in my future endeavors.”
