National Performance Warehouse Acquires Southern Performance Warehouse

MIAMI, Fla. — National Performance Warehouse (NPW) has acquired Southern Performance Warehouse (SPW) located in Clearwater, Fla. The Automotive Engineering retail stores were not part of the acquisition. According to NPW, the combination of the two operations now makes National the largest performance warehouse in Florida.

According to NPW President and CEO Larry Pacey, this will be the first of several major acquisitions.

"National and Southern have been friendly competitors and the two dominant players in the Florida performance market for more than 40 years," said Pacey. "The acquisition of Southern creates a team capable of even greater successes than we have experienced in our long histories. We’re in the midst of several other large acquisitions, with this being the first one finalized."

Roger Goyette, who has been the acting general manager of SPW since the passing of founder Ed Monroe, commented, "NPW’s strong financial status and the addition of truck accessory and traditional lines will increase the product offerings from our Clearwater location. Our team is excited with the merger and looks forward to the growth we’ve projected for 2009 and beyond."

"This is the perfect match," added Matt Bacalis, VP of sales & marketing. "Southern’s strength is hard-core performance and racing knowledge and an exceptional sales team. Combined with National’s strength in traditional and truck accessory products, we can now offer our customers a one stop location for all their parts needs. NPW’s proficiency in delivering product to its customers throughout Florida and South Georgia, will give our customers an upper hand against their competitors."

Pacey will continue to lead the organization, as he has since 1969, with Goyette assuming the purchasing and inventory management role. Chris Pacey is operations manager for both locations, and Bacalis will manage the combined sales force.

National will continue to service auto parts jobbers, speed shops, machine shops and truck accessory stores. NPW now represents more than 540 product lines and is a factory "fee" warehouse for 30 more.

NPW added that the addition of the team from SPW will be a great boost to its "HorsePower Sales," "Parts-Pro" and "Total Truck Center" Marketing programs.
