FRANKFURT The automotive aftermarket is a rapidly changing market today, and as a result, it is more important than ever to know your customer. During a press conference today at Automechanika Frankfurt, Philips Automotive illustrated just how strong a grasp it has on its customers, breaking down their needs and expectations into three distinct categories: regular, sporty and safety.
"We see this as a fantastic opportunity to build on these trends," says Dominique Plancke, CEO of Philips Automotive.
Plancke added that the lighting category not only plays a fundamental role in vehicular safety today but also style and personalization, as well as environmental friendliness.
"It lights the road ahead, both literally and symbolically," Plancke said.
During the press conference today, the company introduced three new products:
· Xenon Extreme Vision, which offers a longer beam and 50 percent more light, particularly at night on country roads;
· LED Daylight Mounting Frames, which can be clipped on and easily mounted on nearly any vehicle; and the
· Penlight Premium a high-powered and compact penlight style inspection lamp, which is water, dirt and shock-resistant and can be fully recharged in less than 2 hours.
