FleetPride Acquires Westpac Heavy Duty

This acquisition brings the total number of FleetPride locations to four in Arizona and 22 in California.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – FleetPride, one of the nation’s largest retailers of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, has acquired the assets of Westpac Heavy Duty Inc., which does business as C.W. Carter Co. in Phoenix, Ariz., and Westpac Heavy Duty of California LLC located in Mira Loma, Calif. This brings the total number of FleetPride locations to four in Arizona and 22 in California. Employment offers have been extended to all employees of both entities, according to FleetPride.

Westpac Heavy Duty has a long legacy that dates back to 1929, when the company was founded as C.W. Carter Co. The Phoenix location has been in operation since 1959.

"Under Charlie Weston’s leadership, Westpac Heavy Duty became an even stronger organization with experienced employees who are well-known for the relationships they have with their customer base. Adding this momentum and market presence to our existing branches in Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson will make FleetPride an even stronger distributor," said Lee Stockseth, president and COO.

Stockseth continued, "By further extending our asset footprint in Southern California, we are better able to serve FleetPride and Westpac Heavy Duty customers in the Inland Empire. This is an extremely dense market for the heavy-duty trucking industry, with a very diverse customer base for us."

"This acquisition will further strengthen our capabilities, expand our customer base, and position FleetPride for ongoing growth as we work to meet the needs of heavy-duty fleet operators and owners. We continue to develop strategic alliances with successful distributors/owners in the industry when it is beneficial to both parties," added FleetPride Chairman and CEO W.M. McGee.
