Diesel Forward has achieved recognition for its remanufactured components by earning the “Manufactured Again” certification from the Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA).

Diesel Forward is a provider of aftermarket diesel engine fuel systems and technical components for light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The company and its Alliant Power brand distribute aftermarket new and remanufactured parts through more than 21 central distributors and more than 550 service dealers around the world.

Along with distribution, Diesel Forward operates a fuel system remanufacturing facility and a state-of-the-art product development, service and training center that has become an industry model for best practices, according to the company.

Remanufacturing is a standardized industrial process by which previously worn, sold or non-functional products are returned to like-new, or better, condition in a factory setting using industrial processes. Each product is disassembled to its core materials and then each reusable core, in combination with new components, is cleaned and remanufactured to like-new condition to meet, or exceed, the quality and performance of newly manufactured goods.

This process yields fully warranted products, giving consumers peace of mind, according to Diesel Forward.

The Manufactured Again certification program was launched by MERA in 2016. With the program, companies can now certify that their remanufacturing processes meet quality management standards more generally associated with new manufacturing. This certification also allows all buyers to confidently identify—and purchase—remanufactured products.

The Manufactured Again certification program is tied to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, two internationally recognized quality standards. ISO 9001 can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. IATF 16949 is a sector-specific requirement that is a supplement to ISO 9001, one of the automotive industry’s most widely used international standards for quality management.

Diesel Forward earned its ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certification in 2018.
