RICHFIELD, Ohio — OEConnection has announced an agreement with Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) to provide online supply chain and networking solutions for its U.S. and Canada dealerships.
Using OEConnection’s D2DLink web-based technology, more than 600 DTNA dealer locations will have a single source for locating and purchasing OE parts for DTNA’s commercial vehicle and engine brands, which include: Freightliner Trucks, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Thomas Built Buses, Western Star Trucks, Sterling Trucks and Detroit Diesel. In addition, the D2DLink network solution will encompass Alliance Parts, DTNA’s private label brand of truck parts, accessories and components.
Upon implementation, DTNA dealers will have access to online parts sourcing and excess inventory reduction tools to create a parts supply network and shorten part cycle-times.
"Daimler Trucks North America has an excellent reputation for product quality and customer support, and we are delighted to add them to our partner portfolio," said Charles Rotuno, OEConnection president and CEO. "D2DLink, now the most used OE parts procurement tool in North America, is the perfect solution to help Daimler Trucks North America dealers respond to their customers with greater parts accuracy and speed."
Daniel Haggerty, director of parts marketing for Daimler Trucks North America, added, "D2DLink is an excellent tool to ensure parts availability at the point of sale for our customers. This technology, which builds on many corporate-level initiatives, should drastically improve our off-the-shelf fill rates at the dealer level as well."
In addition to 16 automotive manufacturers, Daimler Trucks North America is the second non-automotive OEM to contract with OEConnection and its online technologies. Implementation of the D2DLink parts marketing and sourcing tool is currently underway among DTNA dealerships.
