The Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) has released the full speaker lineup for the Summit this September at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The dates for the 2016 Summit are Sept. 10-14 and the theme for this year’s event is “CVSN – Providing the Edge.” Donald Cooper, international management speaker and business coach, will be the keynote speaker for the Summit. Cooper is a thought-leader in management. He works with business owners and managers in more than 40 industries around the world, who want to achieve extraordinary outcomes. Cooper, from the Cooper Equipment hockey family, believes that in order for businesses to be successful they must have customer value, effective promotion, top-performing teams, vision clarity and future action plans. He states: “If the business leaders are not clear about these five things, who else could possibly be?”
Also featured on this year’s Summit speaker lineup is Sam Geist of the Geist Group who will provide tactics to move from strategic thinking to strategic doing. This program is a wake-up call. It addresses a vital issue in business today: the failure to execute.
The final speaker will be Rick Barrera, vice president of strategy for AutoCrib. It’s an old cliché that smart companies under-promise and over-deliver, but in today’s crowded marketplace, it is a one-way ticket to obscurity. In his most recent book, “Overpromise and Overdeliver: How to Design and Deliver Extraordinary Customer Experiences,” Barrera illustrates how an increasing number of cutting-edge companies are building breakthrough brands in record time. The book offers powerful and easy-to-apply lessons, not only for senior managers, but also for individuals at any level — for anyone who wants to create extraordinary customer experiences.
One of the Summit’s great annual traditions is the awarding of the CVSN President’s Award. In 2016, the CVSN Board of Directors has chosen Dave Scheer, CEO of Inland Truck Parts as the recipient. This award is given out to individuals who have demonstrated dedication, leadership and achievement over the span of their career in the independent heavy-duty aftermarket.
Other key elements of the CVSN Summit are private strategic planning sessions (PSPs) between suppliers and their distributor customers, many quality networking opportunities, tours of the very scenic Vancouver area, a spouse program and the ever-popular Tenneco Golf Challenge.
The companies hosting PSP sessions will be announced at a later date.
