Cincinnati Automotive Parts Company Tailors Promotion To Help World War II Veterans

Smyth Automotive Parts Plus launches July promotion to benefit Honor Flight Network.

NEWPORT, Ky. – Starting July 1, Smyth Automotive Parts Plus will be donating 10 cents for every quart of Parts Plus or Everest Brand oil purchased to the Honor Flight Network. The promotion will last through the entire month of July, with hopes of raising enough money to send two Cincinnati-area World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial.

“Over 600 World War II veterans die every single day. The least that we can do to thank these fine Americans for their service and courage for our country is to allow them the opportunity to see their memorial with this trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C. With the Honor Flight Tri-State organization, not only are all of the trip attendees our precious veterans, but they are residents of our immediate Tri-State area and the men and women of our communities,” said Kyle Smithson, one of the owners of Smyth Automotive and a USMC veteran of the Vietnam War.

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all of their sacrifices. This program allows these heroic veterans to visit and reflect at their memorials at no cost to them. Priority is given to those senior veterans or those who may be terminally ill. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, an estimated 640 WWII veterans die each day. The cost to send each veteran to Washington, D.C., is approximately $440.
