Chengdu International Trade Fair For Automotive Parts And Aftermarket Services To Take Place In China In July

CAPAS makes its debut in Chengdu to offer exhibitors and suppliers more opportunities in the Chinese market.

CHENGDU, China – The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will make its debut as the first-ever one-stop trade platform in Southwest China from July 21-23 at Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. Offering exhibitors and suppliers more business opportunities in the Chinese market, the show will cover the three main automotive industry sectors: Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance and Accessories & Tuning.

Organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), the first edition of CAPAS is expected to attract 700 exhibitors that will showcase their full range of automotive OE and aftermarket products and services in three halls covering an exhibition space of 35,000 square meters. In addition, more than 20,000 trade visitors from around the world are expected to visit the show.

Commenting on the dynamic new event, Jason Cao, senior general manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. said, “We aim to provide industry players with a professional platform to help them seize valuable business opportunities in the automotive parts and aftermarket services sectors in Southwest China. Our aim is to make CAPAS the leading trade fair for automotive parts and aftermarket services in Southwest China. We are supported in this endeavor as Messe Frankfurt owns the global brand Automechanika, the world’s largest automobile aftermarket trade fair series held in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa and the company’s extensive global network will attract both exhibitors and visitors to the show.”

Booming Automotive Parts And Aftermarket Sectors In Chengdu

Chengdu is a leading components manufacturing base and has attracted many production projects from the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers such as AW-Volkswagen, Toyota and Geely. By 2020, Chengdu’s vehicle production is expected to reach 1.25 million vehicles. In addition, the automotive service industry output value will reach RMB 50 billion and the automotive accessories development and other related industries will exceed RMB 150 billion.

Chengdu also is a major Sichuan province city, and one of China’s most economically dynamic cities, ranked first in the Western region for its performance. Due to its strategic location and rapidly growing demand for automotive parts and aftermarket services, Chengdu is seen as an opportune market for the automotive industry, event organizers noted.

With the vehicle purchase restriction and an increasingly saturated market capacity in first-tier cities, it is expected that by 2020, Southwest China’s second and third tier markets will account for 55 percent to 60 percent of China’s total vehicle sales, making this part of China a major force in the domestic automobile market.
