Central Services, Enhanced Accounting Features Now Available Through Epicor Vision Software

The new central services capability helps independents reduce labor expenses and enhance their competitive position through the availability of comprehensive pricing updates, sales-based stocking recommendations, parts maintenance and other critical information, Epicor says.

DUBLIN, Calif. – Epicor Software Corp. has introduced a new version of its Epicor Vision business management software that enables automotive replacement parts distributors to provide pricing, parts maintenance and other “central services” to independent jobbers who utilize the Epicor Eagle store management solution. Epicor Vision software also allows distributors to operate their own stores without the need of a separate business management solution, according to the company.

The new central services capability helps independents reduce labor expenses and enhance their competitive position through the availability of comprehensive pricing updates, sales-based stocking recommendations, parts maintenance and other critical information, Epicor says. The addition of central services complements Epicor Vision software’s existing hosting capability, which enables independents to operate their stores using the distributor’s server.

“With Epicor Vision software, you have a choice in how to best support the operational needs of your independent customers while at the same time using this single solution to run your company stores,” said Steve Bieszczat, senior vice president, automotive and marketing, retail distribution solutions for Epicor. “This level of versatility is unmatched among aftermarket distribution software.”

In addition to the new central services feature, this release extends the software’s time-saving graphical user interface to all areas of the integrated accounting package, including a full range of accounts payable functions, Epicor says. Other key new enhancements include spreadsheet upload capability for transfers, orders and credit memos covering multiple customers; the ability to stage automated purchase orders well in advance of anticipated business needs; and an expanded range of warehouse sourcing options by customer.

Epicor Vision software also now enables users to integrate Epicor Vista parts demand intelligence to improve purchasing and stocking decisions based on local and regional demand for specific parts. By incorporating this information, users can more effectively customize local inventories based on actual part consumption, anticipate and address emerging service trends, and increase sales, margins and customer loyalty, according to Epicor.

“By choosing the Epicor Vision solution, distributors of all sizes can take a ‘no limits’ approach to business management and market intelligence,” Bieszczat said. “The range of capabilities and competitive advantages continues to grow with each new release based on user input and extensive market research.”
