Following news earlier this week of the company’s continued expansion in the Asia Pacific region, Visteon has named Daniel Linder to the position of director of product development, Asia Pacific. Based in Shanghai, China, Linder will guide Visteon’s technical capabilities to support new business opportunities in the region, and will facilitate coordination with Visteon’s network of global engineering centers.

Siemens VDO Automotive Service & Special Solutions Names New Director of Marketing and Business Development

Siemens VDO Automotive has named Howard Laster as director of marketing and business development for its Service & Special Solutions group. In this role, Laster is charged with developing new business opportunities for existing product offerings, as well as seeking new business relationships to utilize mutual manufacturing, engineering, customer base and sales and marketing expertise. He is also responsible for product management, marketing communications and pricing strategies.

Ken-Tool President Scott Meyer to Retire

After 35 years, Scott Meyer has announced he will retire from his post as president of Akron, Ohio-based Ken-Tool, a manufacturer of specialty tire changing tools and hand tools. Meyer will continue working with Ken-Tool as vice-chairman, moving away from the day-to-day operations of the business, focusing more on business growth and development including product and market development, business and marketing strategy and industry and customer relationship building.

Stoneridge Appoints New COO

Automotive electrical components manufacturer Stoneridge, Inc. has named Edward Mosel as its new COO. He succeeds Gerald Pisani, who was named president and CEO in May. Mosel joined Stoneridge in 1988 when the company acquired Joseph Pollak Corp. At the time, he was vice president of sales and marketing. Mosel was named vice president and general manager of Stoneridge’s switch products division in 1996, and vice president and general manager of the switch and sensor group in 2000.

Lund International has made an addition to its marketing department. Jay Lusignan has been named marketing communications specialist for the company. Lusignan has eight years of experience in marketing communications. He comes to Lund from Arctic Cat Inc., a manufacturer of snowmobiles and ATVs, where he spent four and a half years managing media/public relations and corporate communications.

Northwood Names David Long Chancellor and COO, Also Names Dean, Provost

Dr. David Long, vice president of operations and enrollment for Northwood University, has been named chancellor and COO of the school. Long will serve as COO of the Michigan, Florida and Texas campuses, University College and the Margaret Chase Smith Library, with responsibility for overall guidance of enrollment management at the university. Northwood has also named Dr. Timothy Nash provost of the Michigan campus. Replacing Nash, Dr. William Busby steps back into the role of dean for the Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management.
