IPOWER Dash Series Event to be Sponsored by zMax

This year marks the 29th anniversary of the IPOWER (International Participants Of Winning Edge Racing) Dash Series, which was acquired from NASCAR in 2003. Now, the IPOWERacing organization plans to market to a new generation of motorsports enthusiasts catering to the 14 to 34 demographic who are looking for fast, competitive, cutting-edge racing. On Saturday, May 22nd, IPOWER is partnering with zMAX Micro-lubricant as the event sponsor for the zMAX Dash, a 75-mile sprint race prior to the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC.

Modine Named One of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for Fifth Year in a Row

For the fifth year in a row, Modine Manufacturing has been named one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2004 by Business Ethics magazine. Modine finished 32nd overall, the same ranking as last year, ahead of such companies as Delphi, Eastman Kodak, Fed Ex and PepsiCo, Inc.

Clevite Offers Customers New Subscription Update Service

Clevite Engine Parts is now offering a new Web content update service to its customers, designed to keep customers informed with the most current, accurate information available. The new service, known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication), allows customers to “subscribe” to content updates for any of the Clevite Web site areas that have the RSS service implemented.

Earl Scheib Sold to Elden Holding Group

Automotive paint shop chain Earl Scheib Inc. has been sold to Elden Holding Group LLC for $17 million in cash. Elden Holding Group is a California-based real estate investment firm.

SPX Contech Wins $18 Million in New Business

Contech, a unit of SPX Corp., has received several new die-cast projects, with an estimated annual revenue of approximately $18 million. Production of each of the five new components will launch by January 2006.

The MEMA Information Services Council Board of Directors has announced a call for applications to the annual Aftermarket Web Challenge. The Aftermarket Web Challenge is the automotive aftermarket’s oldest and most recognized award for Web application excellence. Ninth Annual GAAS Kicked Off in Chicago
