RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — The MEMA Information Services Council Board of Directors has announced a call for applications to the annual Aftermarket Web Challenge. The Aftermarket Web Challenge is the automotive aftermarket’s oldest and most recognized award for Web application excellence. It is sponsored by the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Information Services Council (MIS Council) and is held in conjunction with the organization’s annual Fall Conference.

Based on the increasing development of corporate extranets within the aftermarket, the 2004 competition will focus on these Web applications that connect manufacturers with their customers. Applicants are asked to provide a one-page overview of their corporate extranet Web site and up to five screen shots.

Three finalists will be chosen in August and will compete in the Challenge at the MIS Council’s Annual Fall Conference to held Sunday through Wednesday, Oct.17-20, 2004, at the Marriott Marco Island Resort in Marco Island, Fla. Attendees, who will include information technology and e-commerce professionals, will select a winning site based on design, content and usability. The winning company will be announced at the annual conference banquet and during the annual AAPEX event in Las Vegas. Past winners include Delphi Product and Service Solutions, Dana Aftermarket Group and ArvinMeritor.

The Aftermarket Web Challenge is open to all member companies of the MIS Council. Applications are available at www.miscouncil.org. The deadline for 2004 entries is Sunday, Aug. 15.
