As of Sept. 15, Honda began converting Civics within its own factory in Turkey using BRC’s LPG bi-fuel kits, planning to substantially boost conversion volumes. Honda has offered its Turkish customers LPG aftermarket conversions of the Civic Sedan since 2011, performing these conversions through BRC’s dealer network. Now, Honda has invested 1 million TL ($.34 million) in a new dedicated LPG assembly line, enabling the conversion of 60 vehicles per day and 12,000 vehicles per year, with even higher levels of quality and control, the company said.

On Sept. 15, Honda conducted an opening ceremony at the Honda Turkey plant to celebrate the commencement of the new dedicated LPG conversion line’s operations. Hideto Yamasaki, president of Honda Turkey, and Mariano Costamagna, CEO of Fuel Systems, attended the ceremony.

“We are proud to deepen our relationship with Honda Turkey and applaud the company’s investments in support of clean fuel technologies,” stated Mariano Costamagna. “We also want to thank 2A Engineering Co. for their continued consistent support as an official BRC Turkey Distributor.”
