BKT Awarded ‘Port Tyre Manufacturer Of The Year’ At The Terminal Operator Excellence Awards

image0018At the recent Terminal Operator Excellence Awards 2016 in Dubai, Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) was presented with the “Port Tyre Manufacturer of the Year” award for port and terminal cargo handling equipment.

The award was based on various parameters, including technological innovation, product performance, durability, sustainable manufacturing and ease of recycling.

BKT’s new production facility at Bhuj was visited by the Terminal Operator team and this facility was rated as the best with high level of process automation and strict adherence to process control. BKT has been supplying port application tires to most of the major terminal operators in Middle East region. The performance of the tires has been among the best, both in terms of cost per hour and total service hours achieved. As a pioneer of OTR radials in India, BKT also successfully launched its new range of radial port tyres

The range includes:

  • Reach Stacker – BKT pattern PM90
  • Straddle Carrier – BKT pattern PM93
  • Forklifts – BKT pattern LM81

In addition, BKT says it will soon be launching its radial tire range for terminal tractor applications.
