Bendix Contributes Insights On Safety Technologies At Risk Management Conference

Fred Andersky, Bendix director of customer solutions, Controls group, joined other commercial transportation industry leaders in offering expertise on current and future truck technologies.

Bendix-Commercial-LogoBendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC recently participated in the Motor Transport Underwriters 2015 Risk Management Conference, sharing insights on commercial vehicle safety technologies as part of the panel discussion “Technology: Can You Afford Not to Invest?” Fred Andersky, Bendix director of customer solutions, Controls group, joined other commercial transportation industry leaders in offering expertise on current and future truck technologies.

About 95 people, including fleet representatives, attended the panel session. The annual conference took place July 19-21 in Indianapolis, headquarters of Motor Transport Underwriters. A division of Hudson Insurance Group, Motor Transport Underwriters handles product development, underwriting, loss control, distribution and claims management for the commercial vehicle industry.

Andersky’s participation on the panel was part of the company’s continuing efforts to educate the commercial vehicle industry about the value and importance of safety advances.

“Insurance companies play an important role in building awareness of the value and advantages of advanced safety technologies for fleets and owner-operators. We commend Motor Transport Underwriters for including the panel in its conference and inviting Bendix to participate,” Andersky said. “The panel offered the opportunity to help reinforce the message that fleets incorporating advanced safety technologies may improve safety performance and reduce accident-related costs. This, in turn, could have an impact on insurance-related costs.”

Andersky noted that Bendix delivers driver assistance technologies, not driver replacement technologies. They complement safe drivers and safe driving practices. Responsibility for the safe operation of the vehicle still remains with the driver at all times.
