APRA Gets Social

An updated Facebook and YouTube channel, as well as new Twitter and LinkedIn business accounts, are now being used to facilitate member communication.

CHANTILLY, Va. – Bill Gager, president of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA), announced that the association is increasing its presence on social media platforms.

An updated Facebook and YouTube channel, as well as new Twitter and LinkedIn business accounts, are now being used to facilitate member communication.

“We have come to realize that these are great tools we can use to connect more consistently with our members,” Gager said. “With a billion users on Facebook and YouTube each month and more people using their phones to get on the Internet, it’s clear that social media is the place to communicate. We also want to encourage our members to be on the social media grid because there are so many opportunities there to build a business community and gain access to customers.”

APRA COO Mark Kothe said the staff is tweeting, posting, liking, linking, and excited to be more visible on the social web. “We hope to gain some momentum as we head to the Big R Show in November. We have already posted information about travel deadlines and discounts, and there is even a Twitter hashtag (#BigRShow) so we can use these channels to communicate before, during and after the event.”

In addition to the Reman Central channel on YouTube (youtube.com/remancentral), the APRA can be found at:
