SAN ANTONIO Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance recently moved the Alliance Parts Warehouse (APW), a member-owned warehouse distribution company, to a new and improved location.
“Our Board of Directors [have] discussed a new, larger warehouse for a long time, knowing that to continue providing the same level of quality to our growing membership, a move was needed,” said Richard Morgan, Alliance president and CEO. “When the decision was made to go forward, all [of] our shareholders stood behind it knowing that it would not only benefit them, but make our entire group stronger and more profitable.”
In December 2005, a 21-acre parcel of land was purchased in North Little Rock, AR. Ground-breaking ceremonies took place in May, and on Jan. 18, the move to the new address began. With its new 130,000-square-foot facility, APW is well situated to provide products and services exclusively for the shareholders of Alliance.
The new warehouse has a custom designed material handling system, designed to improve the overall product flow efficiency throughout the facility, providing worker ergonomics and safety. The new system and warehouse are both designed to accommodate future growth as business dictates.
Dean Toole, vice president/general manager of APW, said, “The end result of this move and implementing the changes we’ve committed to will be a modern, state-of-the-art distribution facility that all Alliance members will be proud to be a part of.”
