Activant Vision Platform Proving to be Popular Among ACDelco, Motorcraft Parts Distributors

Activant's continuing investment in new system features and functionality can be seen in the release of seven feature-rich new versions of the Activant Vision software in the past two years.

LAS VEGAS – Activant has said that its Activant Vision business management system is proving to be popular among two- and three-step distributors who are members of the ACDelco Dedicated Distribution Group (DDG) and Motorcraft Ford Authorized Dealer (FAD) network.

Samuels Inc., a two-step distributor with multiple warehouses serving New Jersey, replaced its business platform with the Activant Vision solution in late September. A second DDG and FAD member, Auto Supply Co. Inc., a 22-location chain servicing North Carolina and the Roanoke Valley of Virginia, will soon go live with its Activant Vision system.

“As we grew from one warehouse to three, we needed to find a way to simplify our ordering processes and the movement of products among our locations. Activant’s Vision system will help dramatically improve our utilization of inventory across all markets,” said Bob Samuels, owner and president of Samuels Inc.

Charles Key Jr., president of Auto Supply Co., said his business has outgrown its existing solution as a result of several acquisitions. “As a supplier of both OE and quality aftermarket products, our success is based on offering an extremely high level of product availability and service for the professional installer,” Key said. “The Activant Vision solution was the best choice to support this mission, and one we feel we can growth with over the long-run.”

Both Samuels and Key cited the solution’s proven ROI benefits and Activant’s track record of aggressive, ongoing product development as leading reasons for their investments. Activant’s continuing investment in new system features and functionality can be seen in the release of seven feature-rich new versions of the Activant Vision software in the past two years. These releases have brought new and improved capabilities to virtually every business area, from catalog and order entry to warehouse operations.

“Many of these enhancements were identified and developed through direct feedback from our customers,” said Tom Aliotti, senior vice president, automotive, Activant Solutions. “And as our user base continues to grow, so will our opportunities to build on the impressive strengths of this powerful platform.”

The Activant Vision system’s graphical interface provides rich, visual information and rapid navigation so virtually any user can quickly and easily process routine and exceptional business transactions. Its Microsoft .NET architecture supports the exchange of data with other systems so distributors can more readily conduct business with outside trading partners. The solution also features an interactive customer relationship management (CRM) tool that enables executives and counter professionals to focus on highest-yield opportunities and exceptional problem areas to develop stronger, more profitable customer relationships.
