Activant Presents Next-Generation eCat Product To Counterman Magazine’s Top Auto Parts Professional

Randy Lipscomb, the 2004 Counterman magazine Counterperson of the Year, has been awarded a license for the new Activant Cover-to-Cover eCatalog for use in three of the Ohio-based Federated Auto Parts stores in which he works. AUSTIN, TEXAS — Randy Lipscomb, the 2004 Counterman magazine Counterperson of the Year, has been awarded a license for the new Activant Cover-to-Cover eCatalog for use in three of the Ohio-based Federated Auto Parts stores in which he works. The stores, owned by the Pat Young Service Company in Cleveland, Ohio, already use an integrated version of the Activant PartExpert eCat.

Activant Cover-to-Cover, introduced at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) earlier this month, enables distributors and counterpeople to enhance their PartExpert, ShopCat and LaserCat electronic catalogs to instantly access a broad collection of extended part information such as images and product specifications.

“Skilled parts professionals like Randy are the backbone of the automotive aftermarket,” said Activant Automotive and Industry Solutions Group President Pervez Qureshi. “The thousands of counterpeople across North America who rely exclusively on Activant eCatalog technologies will now have enhanced eCat functionality with our new Cover-to-Cover product.”

Lipscomb, an ASE-certified parts specialist and the host of a popular regional car care television program, received the 2004 Counterperson of the Year award from Counterman editor Brian Cruickshank during an AAPEX ceremony. The award was established in 1986 “to recognize those who excel in the demanding parts distribution profession,” according to the magazine.
