It’s the first day of spring, a new racing season has just begun and aftermarketNews is pleased to have our old friend and intrepid race reporter Dave Caracci back, bringing us behind-the-scenes details from his days on the track with Performance Tech Motorsports.

For this first installment of the 2012 race season, Caracci writes about the excitement that took place at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring by Fresh From Florida race this past weekend.

"In the modern world of professional sports car racing, success does not come from just having horsepower and fast drivers. Just like the auto parts business, today, ‘it’s all about the data.’ And, then using that data to make informed strategic decisions," Caracci writes. "A special thanks for product support to WIX Filtration, PIAA lighting, BBS Wheels and BTS Chemicals."
