MAHLE Earns PwC’s Sustainability Reporting Award

PricewaterhouseCoopers recognized MAHLE for the completeness and materiality of its sustainability reporting.

MAHLE was honored with the “Building Public Trust Award” by auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for its sustainability reporting. The award, which recognizes non-listed companies, lauded MAHLE for the credibility, completeness and materiality of its report. A jury of independent experts from science and business sectors reviewed the quality and transparency of MAHLE’s reporting, noting its consistency, the company said.

“Sustainability is part of our social responsibility as a foundation-owned company,” said Georg Dietz, member of the management board at MAHLE. He emphasized the company’s dedication to transparent reporting, highlighting that MAHLE is not legally required to produce such reports yet chooses to do so.

At the award ceremony in Berlin, Kathrin Apel, global head of sustainability, health, occupational safety and environmental management at MAHLE, accepted the honor.

“The public, customers and investors now expect more information from companies than just financial data,” said Apel. She stressed that stakeholders want insights into a company’s commitment to social, environmental, labor, human rights and anti-corruption issues, all of which are addressed in MAHLE’s sustainability report.

The award’s assessment criteria included all of MAHLE’s publicly available information related to climate protection and sustainability, such as financial reports, sustainability documents, press releases and other publications.

Since 2016, PwC has been presenting the “Building Public Trust Award” to promote corporate emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility in reporting. Last year, PwC expanded the award’s scope to include non-listed companies, underscoring the importance of transparent reporting across all business types.
