EnerSys to Showcase New ODYSSEY Battery Models at AIMExpo 2023

The AIMExpo will take place Feb. 15-17, 2023, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

EnerSys will feature the company’s three latest ODYSSEY battery powersports models in booth no. 6046 at the 2023 AIMExpo. The new models – ODS-AGM14 (Group size BTX14), ODS-AGM20L (Group size BTX20L) and ODS-AGM30L (Group size BTX30L) – will allow battery drop-in fitments for the most popular powersports vehicles and are considered the first in these group ranges to be available with Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology. This year’s AIMExpo will take place Feb. 15-17, 2023, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“We can’t wait to showcase our advanced ODYSSEY battery powersports line-up to this key demographic of dealers and industry professionals at the AIMExpo,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of global marketing, transportation & specialty at EnerSys. “It is a great venue to provide them with a first-hand look into the innovation behind our power solution, engineered to provide superior performance for a variety of popular vehicle models including motorcycle, All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), snowmobile and other powersports applications.”

ODYSSEY TPPL batteries are engineered with pure lead plates that can be made thinner than those in conventional flooded lead acid batteries, so more fit into the same size footprint to provide greater surface area. This enables more electrochemical reactions with the electrolyte to produce more power than conventional batteries of comparable size.

In addition to greater starting power, ODYSSEY batteries provide ample deep cycling reserve power, with engine cranking pulses up to 3,125 amps for five seconds, which is double that of equally sized conventional lead acid batteries. They also feature sealed Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction, which packs the plates tightly in absorbent fiberglass separators that hold the electrolyte and make the batteries virtually maintenance-free.

The company says the rugged, AGM construction and non-spillable design of ODYSSEY batteries also protect against high-impact shock and mechanical vibration, helping to provide longer service life. Backed by an industry-leading warranty, ODYSSEY batteries feature a two-year storage life at 77°F (25°C) and are available in a wide variety of sizes with Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) as high as 2,250.
