Solera Spain Wins Award For Efforts During Pandemic

Solera's ‘‘Contactless Workshop’’ continued to offer essential services to body shops during pandemic.

Solera, a global leader in data, applications and services for insurance and automotive, announced that its team in Spain is winning another award for its innovative approach to serving customers during a time when business in person was not possible.

The award from Actualidad Económica, the economic supplement of El Mundo, and one of the leading national broadsheets in Spain, recognizes business innovation from several hundreds of local submissions of products and services. Solera’s concept, “Contactless Workshop” is among one of the top 100 best innovative ideas of 2020.

During March 2020, when Covid-19 began and governments were introducing lockdowns, the Solera Spanish team pulled together all the innovative resources to creatively think of ways in which to support and show solidarity with customers.

The biggest challenge to overcome was continuing to provide customers with the tools they needed to be operational and run their business, despite the hugely hindering restrictions. The award-winning concept the team came up with was called the ‘’Contactless Workshop.’’ This transformational and innovative idea provided a series of digital solutions for body shop customers and their customers. These solutions included virtual workshops covering various topics such as business budgeting, effective use of video, digital valuations, online purchasing of spare parts and repair process traceability.

“Our goal was to support our industry and customers, at a very difficult time when we couldn’t actually be physically close to them,” said José Luis Mayo, Iberia business director, Solera. “We are always relentlessly focused on the success of our customers. After the Pandemic began, we knew we had to move quickly and come up with new innovative approaches, while ensuring the same level of access and tools for all our customers. This concept was something our team worked really hard on to implement and receiving this recognition is a win for our customers and everyone who was involved in the project.”

This is the third in a series of awards won by Solera Spain for the Top 100 Best Ideas by Actualidad Económica. Solera’s recognition was included in the “Digital Transformation” category. The award ceremony took place on May 27 at Beatriz Hotel located in Madrid.
