GlobalAutoIndustry.com’s latest Audio Interview “Electric Vehicles and U.S. State Governments: A State by State Comparison” features Shruti Vaidyanathan, transportation program director, ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy). She oversees research on vehicle efficiency and system-wide transportation efficiency. Her work has most recently focused on passenger and freight mobility best practices at the state and local levels and the role of emerging mobility options and autonomous vehicles in sustainable urban transportation systems.

  • There’s a lot of excitement about electric vehicles, with some states even talking about requiring all new cars to be electric by 2035. Where do you see this going?

She has 10 years of experience in transportation efficiency issues and her work has most recently focused on passenger and freight mobility best practices at the state and local levels and the role of emerging mobility options and autonomous vehicles in sustainable urban transportation systems.

Shruti holds a Master of Science in public policy and management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and environmental studies from Grinnell College. She joined ACEEE in 2007.
