Daimler’s Martin Daum To Keynote HDMA’s 27th Annual Breakfast & Briefing

The HDMA Breakfast & Briefing event will now be held each year in two separate global locations. In 2018 and subsequent even-numbered years, the program will be held during IAA Hannover. In 2019 and future odd-numbered years, it will be held during the North American Commercial Vehicle show in Atlanta.

The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), has announced that the 27th annual HDMA Breakfast & Briefing will be held the morning of Friday, Sept. 21, at the 67th IAA Commercial Vehicles Show, in Hannover, Germany.

The Friday morning breakfast program will be held prior to the opening of exhibits for the day, and will feature as the keynote speaker, Martin Daum, member of the board of management of Daimler AG, responsible for Daimler Trucks & Buses.

The HDMA Breakfast & Briefing event will now be held each year in two separate global locations. In 2018 and subsequent even-numbered years, the program will be held during IAA Hannover. In 2019 and future odd-numbered years, it will be held during the North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show in Atlanta.

“The annual separate and globally focused commercial vehicle events, IAA Hannover and NACV Atlanta, are supported by HDMA member companies in the technology and component supplier industry, which is global in scope,” said Tim Musgrave, 2017-‘18 chairman of the HDMA board of directors and CEO of Pressure Systems International. “The global scope and focus of the truck and trailer industry, the speed to market of emerging mobility technologies and the impact on fleets across the globe make it important to have a major commercial vehicle technology exhibition each year. Based on industry research, all stakeholders are supportive of one major, all industry, and global event being held each year, on alternating continents. This includes truck customers, shippers, truck and trailer manufacturers, dealers, technology providers, component and system suppliers, government agencies, the investment community, the worldwide press and more. All attendees desire to see and understand what the new technologies will mean to the future of the players in the global commercial transportation and mobility industry.”

Tim Kraus, HDMA president and COO, added, “HDMA’s board and its 200-plus members support both IAA and NACV events as valuable opportunities to showcase their products and to continue to consolidate industry events and concentrate the players once a year. Bringing the global OEM’s and suppliers as well as supporting organizations together yearly to focus on fleets and customers is positive for our members and the global commercial vehicle industry.”

HDMA’s Breakfast & Briefing was first held in 1990 in Louisville, Kentucky, and sold out for 15 years straight, making it a “must attend” event for suppliers and OE companies.

Registration for reserved tables, individual tickets and sponsorships for the Sept. 21 breakfast at IAA will be available at the end of June.
